Today: Williamsburg Montessori School

Speaker: Jacqueline Cossentino

Since 2001, Jacqueline Cossentino has served as the Head of Williamsburg Montessori School -- where her son is a student. She is also an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at the University of Maryland. Since relocating to Williamsburg three years ago, Dr. Cossentino has focused her research on teaching and learning within the Montessori method. Current interests include Montessori's vision of child development and the role of "work" in early childhood learning.

Dr. Cossentino is the author of several articles on teaching, teachers and the process of school reform as well as a forthcoming book, Talking About a Revolution The Languages of Educational Reform. She is married and has one son.

Education -- Did You Know?

Making Up Attendance Part 2 of 2

If you miss a regular meeting of the Club during a given month, you can "make up" attendance if you do any one of the following

- Participate in a planned Kiwanis project.

- Attend the regular meeting or board meeting of a Key Club of Circle K, or a district or International convention of Key Club or Circle K.

- Attend a district convention or conference or a planned divisional meeting or conference.

Announcements

- Club will be collecting coats during the December 11 and 18 meetings. They will be distributed to the Salvation Army Holiday Distribution Center in the Williamsburg Outlet Mall. Womens and childrens coats are especially needed.
- Club Christmas Party will be held Friday, December 20 at the Hospitality House. David Bowditch has details and is taking reservations.
- There will not be a meeting on either December 25 or January 1.
