Today:  The USS Ronald Reagan

Capt. J. W. Goodwin is Commanding Officer of the Pre-commissioning Unit of the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), which will be the ninth ship of the Nimitz class. Christened on March 4, 2001, the ship is now in its final construction and outfitting phase, with delivery to the Navy set for 2003.
Goodwin graduated from the University of South Carolina and was commissioned in May 1975. He holds two master's degrees, is a naval aviator, served as a flight instructor as well as a safety, administrative, operations and maintenance officer, and a Weapons/Aircraft Integration Officer. His first command came in August 1992 with Strike Fighter Squadron 94, and since he has made several deployments oversees and he has been Executive Officer of the USS Carl Vinson and USS Ranier.
Capt. Goodwin's decorations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal.

Kiwanis budget -- How it works.

Our Club has an Internal and an External budget. Revenue from the internal budget comes from dues, meals, raffle, etc. This revenue
supports all Club administrative activities.
Revenue from the external budget comes from
fundraising, and supports the community.  No external revenue can be transferred to the internal budget. However, any funds remaining in the
internal Club budget at the end of the year are transferred to support the community.  If you want more details, please speak with Tom French, President, or Ben Puckett, Treasurer.
