Speaker:  Sandy Wanner,  County Administrator
Sandy Wanner has served as James City County Administrator since August 1996.  Prior to this appointment, he served as Acting County Administrator and as Assistant County Administrator managing the County’s Facilities Management Division, Satellite Office, and the Solid Waste Recycling Program.    Sandy has also served as General Manager, James City Service Authority;  Project Manager for various efforts, including the Ware Creek Reservoir, the construction of the James City-Williamsburg Recreation Center, and the Service Authority building at the Government Center and as Director of Finance for the Williamsburg-James City County Schools where he was instrumental in developing a study on population and growth trends, used for long range planning of capital projects for the schools.
Other relevant experience includes Director of Business Affairs for Fredericksburg Public Schools;  Logistics Planner for the Joint Chiefs of Staff; and Financial Manager of the U.S. Marine Corps Industrial Fund, during his Marine Corps Officer service - 1958 to 1979. Sandy devotes significant time to the community, serving on the United Way Board of Directors and as the local Boy Scouts of America Chairman. He has also been involved with the Jamestown 4-H Center, Child Development Resources and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Williamsburg.  He has a Masters Degree in Administration from GWU and a Bachelors in Education from Trenton State College (now the College of New Jersey).
