  Program:   Survivor of USS Indianapolis (sunk in 1945)
Speakers:   Richard Paroubek 
            
 

The world War II tragedy of the heavy cruiser USS Indianapolis sinking plays out in three parts. 1. The Sinking and Survival;  2. The Lost Hope and the Miracle Rescue;  3. The Navy's Lapse, Cover-Up and Captain McVay's Court Martial
Todays speaker, Richard Paroubek, a Williamsburg resident, spent over 100 hours in the shark infested Philippine Sea and is one of only 317 survivors. He will tell us of his ordeal.
Next week Peter Wren, a Rescue Boat Officer from the USS Basset will address the rescue of the survivors and the aftermath.
