Speakers/Program: Scott Cummings       Northrop-Grumman Newport News   

Mr. Cummings is the Manager of Research and Development for the VA Shipbuilding and Carrier Integration Center (VASIC) at Northrop Grumman Newport News.  He manages all research development within VASIC and works with colleges, private and public organizations to develop and integrate technology onto maritime platforms. Mr. Cummings graduated from ODU with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Science in Engineering.  He is also a graduate of the Leadership Institute.

Menu:  Salad;  Cornbread-stuffed chicken breast;  vegetables;  rolls

Next week: SPECIAL LOCATION:  Bavarian Chef Restaurant - Richmond Road near the Pottery.  Menu will be a full buffet, consisting of a full salad bar, rotisserie chicken, German sausages, 4 vegetables, beverage and dessert
 


Education -- Did You Know? Kiwanis International Foundation: Part 1 of 9:  All Kiwanians worldwide are members of the Kiwanis International Foundation which funds grants for activities and programs to meet the needs of children. The mission: "To assist Kiwanis International in serving the children of the world." The Foundation, founded in 1939, is a not-for-profit corporation. It is the charitable fund-raising entity of Kiwanis International that maintains an endowment fund to which gifts and bequests are contributed to preserve the Kiwanis heritage.

Announcements

- Last Call for Parade of Homes parking. Volunteers needed. This is a fundraiser for the Club. See Carol Mann or call 229-4633 to volunteer
- WM Circle K will again provide Fall yard clean up services such as raking leaves, weeding, etc. on weekends. This year the funds we collected will go towards cystic fibrosis. Claudine Waigenfeld can be contacted at cvwaig@wm.edu and 757-221-5655.
