Headliner
Organizations
In the 2011-2012 year, the Kiwanis elected
to highlight 3 organizations in support
of their efforts with children in the community:
Avalon:
Avalon provides shelter and support to those
experiencing domestic violence and sexual
assault in the Greater Williamsburg area.
By offering tools for safety, self-sufficiency,
and empowerment, Avalon works to break the
cycle of abuse and helps create a positive
future.

4-H Educational
Center: Mission Statement Jamestown
4-H Educational Center, Inc. is a non-profit
organization dedicated to the development
of youth and adult volunteers through innovative
4-H camping, environmental education, and
leadership training.

Bacon Street:
Provides services to young people and families
affected by substance abuse and/or mental
health issues. Bacon Street utilizes evidence-based
practices to assure quality assessment of
problems, and attention to the "whole
person" in working with individuals
and their families.

The club will also provide support to the
following organizations: Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters (CHKD), Williamsburg Youth Baseball League, The ARC of Greater Williamsburg, and the William & Mary swim and diving squads annual James River Swim to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The needs in our community are greater
than ever before and the amount of funds
available to support those needs have been
decreasing. All service clubs and foundations
struggle to meet the needs of so many worthy
causes that depend on charitable giving
for their operating budgets and survival
of some of their programs.
Your donation
will help support our efforts.
